About Me

Art can be interpreted in several ways, and the variations in my portfolio show that there are infinite ways to comprehend and construe art. Each piece expresses a different aspect of who I am and how it influences my life.

Ever since I could hold a pencil, I’ve always had a sketchbook with me, and I continued to get more and more, filling them with doodles, sketches, and final pieces of ideas from my imagination or things I encountered in my everyday life.

I see art as more than just a couple colors on a piece of paper; rather a masterpiece that captures one specific moment of emotion, desire, or sensation. Whether it’s through pencil, acrylics, watercolor, pen, or ink, all mediums can express who I am.

With the influence of rock music, video games, and the exposure to animals throughout my childhood, my artwork commonly revolves around those central ideas, although I’m currently expanding my horizons to new levels of creativity and originality. Often times my artwork will remain simple; a pencil and a piece of paper. Through the simplicity that only a pencil can offer, I believe that life and magic can spark from just a few strokes of the hand.

While my style remains more traditional, I take any chance I can get to try new materials and learn the technique needed to master that medium. With each piece of art that I create, my hope is to send goose bumps down the viewers’ arms, with the realization that there is a deep message hidden inside.  I attempt to take my life experiences and transpose them into pieces of art, as if they’re stories told through colors, shades, and shapes.

Me

I look forward to furthering my body of work throughout my college experience at the University of the Arts and years ahead. In the future, I would love to be able to design characters, backgrounds, and learn how to storyboard and animate for gaming; being able to make my artwork that much more alive would be my heaven. My love for videogames became a central point in my artwork when I was younger, so things are now becoming full circle with my college plans of being a Game Art Major. I'm also going to pursue a teaching degree so I can teach students the beauty and wonders of art.

I’ve loved art my entire life, and I‘m never going to stop.

Success! Message received.
